1. About the PEO Graphic Licence Plate Program
Partnering with Service Ontario, Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) is proud to present the PEO Graphic Licence Plate Program for Ontario residents and PEO members.
Support the engineering profession and help PEO create brand recognition in Ontario and beyond by proudly displaying, on your Ontario licence plate, the official logo (the PEO diamond) of Professional Engineers Ontario.

These initial 200 PEO graphic licence plates are "owned" by Professional Engineers Ontario. Upon purchase of a plate, ownership of the plate needs to be transferred to the new owner, you.

The purchaser does not have to be the recipient of the graphic licence plate. The ownership can be transferred to a named third party, such as a friend or spouse as a gift.

We do not require the Driver's licence number of the graphic licence plate recipieiont.

We do not require the vehicle identification or registration information.
When you travel throughout Ontario and Canada, other travelling Canadians will see the PEO logo on your licence plate. Our hope is that this will increase public awareness of the engineering profession so that people will express interest in the association and its mandate:
Regulating the practice of professional engineering and governing licence and certificate holders in Ontario in the public interest.
Professional Engineers Ontario licences Ontario's 73,000 professional engineers, grants temporary, limited and provisional licences to practise professional engineering, and authorizes businesses to provide engineering services to the public. It sets standards for and regulates engineering practice. Under the Professional Engineers Act, its statutory mandate is to serve and protect the public interest where engineering is concerned. Rigorously educated, experienced and committed to a Code of Ethics that puts the public first, licenced professional engineers can be identified by the P.Eng. after their names. Limited engineering licencees can be identified by the LEL after their names.
As part of the initial launch, PEO has purchased the first 200 graphic licence plates:
Our first 200 graphic licence plates have serialized digits, ranging from "01PE01" through "01PE99"; "02PE01" through "02PE99" and "03PE01" and "03PE02". By owning these 200 plates, we can offer a specific selection to those who are interested. Once these 200 plates are sold out, the only way you can get a PEO graphic licence plate wil be from Service Ontario, and you will have little choice in what numbers you get in the series.
2. Where can I get a PEO Graphic Licence Plate
The 200 PEO graphic licence plates will be available for general purchase
only through the special ordering website hosted by our partners Leader Manufacturing Inc / Leader Frames for a cost of
$82.15 CAD (including HST) per plate number.
Personalized PEO graphic licence plates can be ordered directly from Service Ontario.

3. How Do I order my PEO Graphic Licence Plate ONLINE?
To order your plate online:
- Go to www.leaderframes.com
- Click on "Canadian Institutions"
- Click on "PEO"
- View all licence plates: Only plates that are available for sale will be shown.
- Click on the plate of your choice and on the next page, add to cart.
- Follow the next steps on screen as prompted. Your selection is now blocked for anyone else ordering a licence plate on the website.
This is the fastest way of getting the plate that you want as the credit card payment is immediate.
- We can accept only MasterCard or Visa credit card payment for online orders.
- For delivery, there will be an additional shipping charge of $13.50.
- Or you can also choose to pick up the plate at Leader Frames in Toronto. Click here for the address, contact information and office hours (no additional charge for pickup).
Please allow 10 business days for delivery by mail. We aim to mail out the plates as soon as possible after receiving an order.
Note:
Once these 200 plates are sold out, the only way you can get a PEO graphic licence plate will be from Service Ontario, and you will have little choice in what numbers you get in the series.
4. What do I do when I receive my plates? (How to register your plates)
Every plate package will have a release form that allows you to transfer the plate ownership to you.
DO NOT AFFIX THE PLATES TO YOUR VEHICLE UNTIL YOU HAVE REGISTERED THEM.
- Registering your plates
- Once you get the plates, DO NOT put them on your vehicle. It is illegal to do so until they are registered to you.
- Please take the following items to a Service Ontario Driver and Vehicle Licence Issuing Office and get them registered under you name:
- Transfer Letter that you received with your plates.
- Vehicle Permit
- Valid Insurance Information
- Current Plates & new plates.
- Service Ontario will deal with the transfer of the sticker according to their established rules.
- Once transferred, you can put the plates on your vehicle and drive home with pride!
There is no administration fee to transfer these PEO Graphic Licence Plates to a vehicle that is legally plated in Ontario.
Note: If you want a Personalized PEO graphic licence plate other than the licence plates offered on the order page, you need to contact Service Ontario directly
5. Validation Stickers
Graphic licence plates are the same as regular licence plates in that they require annual validation stickers (tags) to be properly licenced. The cost of validation stickers is the responsibility of the new owner. Validation stickers are not included with the purchase of PEO graphic licence plates. PEO and the licence plate distribution centre cannot be held responsible for, or accept penalties, fines and other monetary / non monetary penalties resulting from the owner not complying with the Ontario Traffic Act and in relation with the PEO graphic licence plates.
Any time remaining on current validation tags will be credited towards the cost of tags for the graphic licence plate. For example, if a person renewed their licence plate tags in November for a 12-month term, new tags will be issued to them with a concurrent expiry date for no additional charge.

7. What is the graphic?
- "PEO diamond" is the graphic
- It will be located on the left of the plate as per Service Ontario standards
8. What does the licence plate number consist of?

9. What numbers are available on the initial 200 predetermined licence plates?
- The 200 PEO graphic licence plate numbers are in the following order:
01PE01, 01PE02, ... 01PE98,
01PE99, 02PE01, ... 02PE99,
03PE01, 03PE02.

11. Are there any restrictions on who gets this plate?
No. The public can get this plate.
12. If I have a customized plate already, can I transfer my plate to the graphic plate?

- If the customized message on the plate is six letters / numbers or less, it is possible.
- There is a fee to transfer the existing customized plate to a graphic customized plate.

13. My plates need renewing now. What should I do if I want a PEO graphic licence plate?
- You do not need to worry. Service Ontario has advised that as long as you are giving up your old plates for the new plates, you will get full credit for the sticker. It will be fair and in accordance with their established rules.
- If you have further questions, best to contact Service Ontario.
14. Can I keep my old plates?
- All licence plates remain the property of the Crown and must be returned to the Ministry upon request.
- You can keep the old plates with the assumption from Service Ontario that you will be putting them on another vehicle.
- If you are keeping your old plates, you will not get the credit for the sticker because of the above assumption.
15. Is there a limit to how many plates I can get?

16. How come there is a number missing? Is it a mistake?
- No, this is not a mistake - the missing number has been sold.
- Sold plates are not shown on the website. This is to ensure that we do not double sell.

19. What if I want to pay by cheque?

- Please call the distribution centre (Leader Frames) at 1-800-884-3199 or at 416-497-7516 to place your order and mention you wish to pay by cheque.
- Inform distribution centre if you are picking your order up or having it shipped (add $13.50 plus tax for shipping)
- You will be informed of the total amount and of you order number by email or phone.
- Make your cheque payable to Leader Manufacturing Inc, mentioning your order number on your cheque.
- Mail your cheque to the distribution centre.
- When your cheque has been cashed the distribution centre will contact you to inform you that your order will be shipped or when you can pick up your order.
- You will need your order number for pickup.
- If shipped: Allow 10 business days for delivery.
Note: If your cheque can-not be cashed, the order will not be shipped and you will have to pay by cash, debit or credit card before receiving your order. You will be charged for any bank charges that we incur resulting directly from this. If you decline payment, your order will be cancelled.

22. I ordered my plates and will pay when I pick them up - how long will you hold my plates?

- When you are informed that your plates are ready for pickup, please pick them up and pay not later than two weeks from notification.
- If for some reason you can't pick up & pay your order within two weeks from when you were notified the plates are ready, pleasekeep us informed.
- If you do not inform us and we cannot get in touch with you in the two weeks from pickup notification, we will cancel your order and release the plate number. It will become available to the general public again.
- To avoid "No-Shows" we will put the plates back up for sale if you do not pick up and pay for your plates within two weeks of when you were notified your order was ready for pickup.

23. How are the plates shipped to me?

- By Canada Post - If you have not received your order within 10 business days from the time you ordered, please contact Leader Frames at 1-800-884-3199 or 416-497-7516. They can track your shipment.
- If you are not home, Canada Post will leave a pickup notice in your mail box. The package will be available for pickup at the nearest post office. You will need ID to pick it up. If you do not pick up the package within the allotted time marked on the card, the package will be shipped back to sender.

24. Non-deliverable orders due to wrong / incomplete address

Order is paid and in transit for delivery:
- If you change your mind and you have paid your order in full and it is in transit, you will have to wait until you receive it.

- A 30 per cent restocking fee will apply ($24.65 payable to Leader Frames).
- Buyer is responsible for all the costs of returning the plates back to Leader Frames and for paying the restocking fee.
- The balance of $57.50 is refunded back to the buyer upon receipt of the returned plates, if they are in good condition.
- Shipping, packaging, transactional costs from the initial purchase are not refundable.
- Leader Frames will make the plates available to the general public again.
